Cook the Rice:
- Heat 1 tsp ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
- Add soaked rice and saute for a minute.
- Pour in the milk and bring to a boil. Stir occasionally.

Simmer the Kheer:
- Lower the heat and let the milk simmer gently.
- Cook until the rice is soft and the milk has thickened (about 25–30 minutes), stirring occasionally.

Flavor & Sweeten:
- Add sugar and cardamom powder once rice is done.
- Mix well and simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Add saffron strands if using.
