For Suji Halwa:
Semolina (Suji): 1 cup
Sugar: ¾ cup
Water: 3 cups
Ghee: 4 tablespoons
Almonds (sliced): 10–12
Cashews: 8–10
Walnuts (chopped): 5–6
Cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon
For Kala Chana:
Kala chana (soaked overnight): 1 cup
Oil: 2 tablespoons
Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
Salt: as per taste
Green chili: 1 (optional)
For Puri:
Wheat flour: 2 cups
Water: for kneading
Oil: for deep frying
1. Prepare Suji Halwa:
Heat ghee and roast semolina until golden. Add water slowly while stirring, then mix in sugar and cook until thick. Add chopped almonds, cashews, and walnuts with cardamom and cook for 2–3 minutes.
2. Cook Kala Chana:
Pressure cook soaked kala chana. Heat oil, add cumin seeds and green chili, then add chana and salt. Cook for 5–7 minutes.
3. Prepare Puri:
Knead a tight dough with wheat flour and water. Roll small puris and deep fry until golden and crispy.
Serve:
Serve hot halwa garnished with almonds and cashews, along with puri and kala chana. Perfect for Ram Navami prasad.
